Blue Nagoon Incredible art pop, a gorgeous mixture of synthetic and acoustic elements. Intimate, thoughtful, a little unusual in the best way. A journey well worth taking again and again. Favorite track: There's Too Much Beauty In This Beast.

Mr. Conner Everything about this album is intimate, authentic, genuine, and brings the brilliant complexity of simple moments to life. Its sound burns like a fire in the cold, dark winter. It sets up shop in your heart and warms it. Just close your eyes and let it in. Phenomenal songwriting. Phenomenal cover art. Favorite track: She was Divine.

This work came to me whilst I was pregnant. I'm tremendously proud of it as I faced one of my greatest fears - self-engineering. My favorite book Frankenstein was written by Mary Shelley while she was pregnant. It is common for pregnant women to dream of beautiful beasts. I hope you love these beasts as much as I do. p.s. there is a tasty extra offering to be had exclusively on bandcamp.

There’s too much Beauty in this Beast Shattered in the afternoon Battered by the tidal moon Touch me will I come alive Living is it all survival There’s too much beauty in this beast Sick girls hunger ravaged lullaby Big girls never question why Crush me will I turn to dust If I am, well I guess I must There’s too much beauty in this beast And sometimes I really want to live. Drive to the ocean with the kids All my lovers in the attic wait for me. Who needs immortality
2.
I have a car We could get in We could drive far, hard, to the stars If you can drive and I can find the keys See I’ve been drinking, thinking, trying to find peace She was sweet wine left us rotting on the vine She was divine The essence of love Here in the dark Part of a system No wisdom to impart A state of unrest beats in my chest At a crazed pace Slow case of madness Seven swans swimming swiftly by

Boy Feathers 01:56
Yes I stroked his feathers Held his taloned hands Yes I fed him insects Slept within his nest And I’ll never forgive ‘em that day Shot him like a bird of prey, prey Yes I knew his mother Held her as she cried They stripped him of his feathers Left him there to die A beautiful flying thing ‘Course they had to take his wings, wings Hey, Kid, you circling alone Shot out of heaven like a cold blue stone Hey, Kid, you circling alone Shot out of heaven, shot out of heaven
4.
Crawled in the back seat of your car Thought you saw me, thought you saw I could tell that you loved her Squeezing her thigh, adjusting the mirror You said, ‘We’re losing the light, but I know my way in the dark, know my way in…’ And you drove her to Idle Wood Wish I could disappear, sink in the seats Don’t know who you are though we said forever, we said… There’s a little band of gold wrapped around your finger You belong to me Think she’s a waitress Squeezing her throat, adjusting the mirror I gotta get out of this There’s a cake in the oven I made for your birthday Anywhere you go I’ll follow Are we too close to call Anywhere you go, you know I’ll follow You know I’ll follow
5.
Beastie 03:33
How can I let you go now? You know the beast I am I know I disappoint you Could you learn to love me yet? Yes I hide you And I’m tied to you Fall against the shower wall and cry, cry cry It makes no sense at all you say why, why, why Fall against the shower wall and you cry, cry cry Born to be your Beastie Yes I live alone in the wood I was never that popular I can’t be the only monster Who wanted some of your love And I’m tired of this unrequited life Fall against the shower wall and cry, cry cry It makes no sense at all you say why, why, why Fall against the shower wall and you cry, cry cry Born to be, born to be… Don’t you want to live with me I could keep you warm at night I could hold you tenderly Safe from all the city light We could go outside but not that far Count the blades among the stars See the torches in your eyes My love, they’ll never catch us alive Don’t you want to live with me?

about

* Thank you for listening. Songs have as many meanings as there are listeners. If you prefer to keep the songs without my two cents, read no further.

There's Too Much Beauty In This Beast - five sonic tales featuring characters on the brink. 'Living, is it all survival?' on the title track, a woman weighs everything and with quiet hope decides to keep living. She was Divine's main character waxes poetic about the one who got away or perhaps the one he harmed. Boy Feathers recounts the murder of a boy with wings at the hands of jealous and terrified townspeople from the perspective of the person who loved him. Woodland Tracks' narrator is perhaps the opposite perspective from 'She was Divine' - a woman or the ghost of a woman - hides in her husband's back seat as he takes a waitress out into the woods. Beastie - a lonely monster or perhaps the winged creature from Boy Feathers - kidnaps out of its desperate need to be loved 'Don't you want to live with me, I could keep you warm at night. I could hold you tenderly safe from all the city lights.'
